In 2023, members of the Alpine Club were generously hosted by members of the Wetzlar section of the Deutscher Alpenverein for a trip to the sandstone towers of the Pfalz. This was a hugely enjoyable joint meet which introduced AC members to a unique part of German climbing.

To reciprocate this generosity, in 2025, the AC will be hosting Wetzlar DAV members in North Wales to give them the opportunity to experience one of the UK's best climbing areas.
