Tuesday 12 November 2024, 07:30pm - 09:30pm
Tuesday 12 November 2024

Julian joins us to talk about the Island of South Georgia which he has visited in 1989, 2005, 2009 and 2013, and from which he will have just returned in October of this year. This 2024 trip is to attempt the unclimbed Mt Macklin in the island’s far south, named by map maker Duncan Carse after Alexander Macklin the physician on Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914-17.
