The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.
With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!

Due to its accessibility and the large number of quality routes in the area, Aladaglar sits at the heart of Turkish alpinism. The massif is made up of many peaks above 3700m and covers an area similar in size to the Mont Blanc Massif, with ice and mixed lines as well as ridges and rock routes.
In this presentation, Efe will explain how to plan and execute ascents in this overlooked area.
The talk will be held at the Alpine Club's premises at 55 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3QF from 7PM on 8 October 2024.
For safety reasons, we are required to keep a register of all attendees. If you plan to attend, please complete the form below. (This applies to both members and non-members).
There is no official charge for entry, but we do ask non-members to make a small contribution towards the continued running of the lectures if they are able.
