Iran rather than the Alps is where Sebastian first came in contact with higher mountains. Whilst initially aiming for well-know summits such as Damavand, Sabaland and Joupar he soon started venturing into rarely-visited areas in a welcoming and often misrepresented country. His endeavours with long-term Iranian climbing partner Mojtaba Vasou culminated in the first ascents of two very remote peaks in 2019. Sebastian will present a general overview of his Iranian mountain journey, spanning five expeditions from 2015 to 2019 with a particular focus on the lesser-known areas he has visited.

Non-members are very welcome to attend but should book in advance either by completing the form below or by emailing admin@alpineclub.org. 

There is no official charge for entry, but we do ask non-members to make a small contribution towards the continued running of the lectures if they are able.
