The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857.  For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!

Saturday 20 May 2023

A climber stands on the Cuillin Ridge, looking off into the distance as mountains spread out ahead of them.

A visit to some of the UK's most mountainous terrain, with opportunities to climb and scramble at all grades in some of Scotland's most iconic ranges. This is the ideal meet on which to attempt a section (or full traverse) of the Cuillin Ridge with other Club members.

There is also the option to visit Lochranza on the isle of Arran on the way up which has some great climbing, walking and scrambling. Some may also choose to visit the isle of Rum with the Rum Cullins for a few days.

The meet will all be camping. Staying at the Glenbrittle campsite on Skye. The campsite does not take bookings but is large and always has space available.
