Aladaglar is a prominent mountain area in Central Turkey and its name literally means ‘red mountains’ — after the bright orange color that paints the jagged 3,500m peaks at sunset.

This compact mountain range allows visitors to combine sport climbing, trad, mountaineering and trekking, as well as a day off sightseeing in the pinnacle valleys and ancient cave towns of the nearby Cappadocia. The meet organiser spent 2 months in Aladaglar in summer 2022 and knows the area fairly well.

Dates: 13-21 May 2023, when the days are not yet hot, while valleys are blooming with spring flowers and there is still snow on alpine peaks. Daytime temperatures in mid May are usually around 20-23 degrees and around 15 degrees at night.
