The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

Friday 17 September 2021Late Summer Lakes meet with be held 17 th – 19 th September at the George Starkey Hut in Patterdale.
This is the perfect opportunity to explore some of the lesser-known crags and scrambles of the
Eastern Fells, with Eagle Crag, Hutaple Crag, and Scrubby Crag all close by, and the classic scrambles
of Pinnacle Ridge and the Helvellyn Edges pretty much on the doorstep too. On the off-chance that it
might be too wet for climbing, there’s great fellwalking.
Saturday evening meal will be a Jacob’s Join (Google it if you’re not from Cumbria!), but you will be
responsible for all of your other meals, and there are pubs nearby to help with this.
We’re hoping that some members will be keen to host a slide show of their recent adventures for
entertainment on Saturday night.
