Tuesday 16 October 2018The first ascent of the South-West Face of Monarch in the Canadian Coast Mountains. In August 2017 Simon Richardson and Micha Rinn made the first ascent of Game of Thrones, a 1250m-long route on the previously unclimbed south-west face of Monarch in the Waddington Range. Similar in scale and difficulty to the Walker Spur on the Grandes Jorasses though more serious, Simon will describe the events leading to the successful ascent.

Lectures free to members. Members’ guests and BMC members are welcome to attend for a donation of £3 to the Montane Alpine Club Climbing Fund.
Doors Open: 7pm. Lectures start: 7.30pm
The Hotel has a bar serving bar food from 6pm
