In August 2017 Simon Richardson and Micha Rinn from Germany made the first ascent of Game of Thrones on Monarch Mountain in the Canadian Coast Mountains. The 1250m-long route on the previously unclimbed south-west face is similar in scale and difficulty to the Walker Spur on the Grandes Jorasses. Simon will describe the fortunate series of events leading to the successful ascent.
