Fresh Footsteps in Antarctica
In January 2013 Jamie Goodhart and six other climbers from the Alpine Club set off from Argentina in a chartered sixty foot yacht. The compass was pointed south and the aim was to cross the Drake Passage and land on the Antarctica peninsular.
A week later the team landed by gigantic ice cliffs, where the Trooz glacier meets the sea and skied into an unexplored glacial system towards the mountains. When they could no longer ski they walked and when they could no longer walk, they climbed. Come along to see what gems were climbed.
