Peter Holden: Cold Climes
Tuesday 12 September 2017, 07:30pm
Contact Derek Buckle
Tuesday 12 September 2017
Peter will give an account of his and Chris Radcliffe's attempts to climb the Croz Spur on the Grandes Jorasses during the early days of British 'winter' Alpinism.  It took Peter and Chris three attempts over five years before succeeding and then it was outside the conventionally accepted period for 'winter' ascents. But it was a great classic experience. The talk will begin with a few shots of Peter's early climbing days and some of his Alpine classics before recounting their various attempts on the Croz Spur.
