The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.
With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!Becoming a Member

The Meets programme provides great opportunities for fellow members to get to know each other in the climbing areas of the UK and the mountains of the world. UK meets in particular offer the chance for members to drop in, even for just an evening drink.
New members have often attended meets as guests of members before they joined and their presence on meets is particularly welcome both to widen their circle of acquaintance and to assist with maintaining that tradition of openness to prospective members. Non-members may attend meets as guests of members at the discretion of the meet coordinator.
Before attending please read the Meet Guidelines

This meet will be on 30th April to 2nd May probably at North Lees campsite, Hathersage https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visiting/getactive/camping/camping-northlees
The rate for adults is £7.50 per night. Cars are an additional £2.50 per night (to be confirmed).
One of the best times of year to climb on grit in the Peak, no bracken, no ticks, cooler temperatures and usually pretty stable weather means that you can get on to some classic venues and routes in comfort (but make sure that you bring a warm pully and a flask). The campsite is almost at the foot of Stanage and is within walking distance from the delights of Hathersage (gear shops, cafes, pubs, outdoor swimming pool). Loads of other classic gritstone crags are a short drive away.
Confirmation of numbers is required by mid April.
