From Scotland to the Alps, Canada and beyond, The Alpine Club’s calendar for 2024 showcases the best mountain photography produced by Alpine Club members over the past five years.

The Club often reproduces classic mountain paintings from its collection as Christmas cards. They do not carry a date and have a simple seasonal greeting. They are available in packs of ten.

The Everest expeditions of 1921, 1922 and 1924 were incredible feats of human ingenuity, vision and personal courage. 100 years on from the exploratory expedition of 1921, the Alpine Club marked this remarkable undertaking with an exhibition that comprehensively examined the 1920s expeditions, using the words of the expedition members themselves and never-before-seen artefacts to tell the complete story of early Everest exploration. The exhibition catalogue, compiled by the Alpine Club's Honorary Librarian Barbara Grigor-Taylor and designed by Abrahams, offers a detailed and compelling companion piece to the exhibition.

A Biographical Dictionary compiled and written by Peter Mallalieu

Since its foundation in 1857 there have always been members of the Alpine Club who have carried sketch-books into the mountains, keeping a record of their endeavours and peaks they had climbed. Descriptions of these artists form the principle part of the text of this Dictionary, together with many illustrations of their work.
