The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857.  For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

David will talk about the third leg of his multi-year project to make a winter ski crossing of the entire Alpine chain from the Mediterranean to Vienna. Starting in Bergun on 8th Feb and ending in Schaldming on 28th March this was a journey of 35 stages completed over 49 days. The route crossed the Engadin, Silvretta, Otztal, Stubai, Zillertal, Hohe Tauern, and Niedre Tauern ranges logging a distance of 746km with 39,800m of ascent, in a year with less than average snow cover.
